At High Point Athletics, we understand that entrusting your child to our care is a significant decision. We take this responsibility seriously and have implemented comprehensive safety measures to ensure every child has a positive, secure experience in our programs.
Our safety protocols are designed to protect your child physically, emotionally, and socially. We continuously review and update our practices to maintain the highest standards of youth sports safety.

Coach Requirements & Training
Every coach meets strict qualifications before working with your children
Background Verification
Comprehensive criminal background check through national databases, including sex offender registries in all 50 states.
Safety Certification
All coaches must complete youth sports safety training, including concussion awareness and heat illness prevention.
CPR & First Aid
Current CPR and First Aid certification is required for all coaching staff, with regular recertification.
Positive Coaching
Training in positive coaching techniques that build confidence, character, and love of the game.
Sport-Specific Training
Certification or demonstrated expertise in their specific sport, with age-appropriate coaching methods.
Ongoing Education
Annual continuing education in youth development, safety protocols, and coaching best practices.
Parent Guidelines & Expectations
Working together to create the best experience for your child
Before Each Session
- Ensure your child is properly hydrated and has eaten appropriately
- Send your child with appropriate athletic attire and footwear
- Apply sunscreen for outdoor activities
- Inform coaches of any health concerns, injuries, or medications
- Arrive on time for drop-off and pick-up
Communication
- Keep emergency contact information up to date
- Notify us of any changes to authorized pick-up persons
- Report any concerns to staff immediately
- Check emails and messages for program updates
- Communicate any schedule changes in advance
Code of Conduct
- Model positive sportsmanship for your child
- Support all players, not just your own child
- Respect coaches, officials, and other parents
- Allow coaches to coach during practices and games
- Address concerns through proper channels, not during sessions
Drop-off & Pick-up
- Children must be signed in and out by authorized adults
- Photo ID may be required for pick-up verification
- Late pick-up fees may apply after 15 minutes
- Children will only be released to authorized individuals
- Notify us immediately if you'll be late
Medical Information & Policies
Medical Forms
All participants must have a completed medical form on file, including emergency contacts, allergies, and any medical conditions.
Medications
If your child requires medication during sessions, please inform us and provide written instructions. Staff cannot administer prescription medications without proper documentation.
Allergies
Please inform us of any allergies, especially food allergies or bee sting allergies. We maintain allergy-aware practices at all facilities.
Illness Policy
Please keep your child home if they have a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness. They may return 24 hours after symptoms resolve.
Concussion Protocol
We follow strict concussion protocols. Any child suspected of having a concussion will be removed from play and parents will be notified immediately.
Weather Safety
We monitor weather conditions and have policies for extreme heat, lightning, and other weather hazards. Sessions may be modified or cancelled for safety.
Emergency Procedures
We're prepared to handle any situation
Immediate Response
Staff will assess the situation, provide first aid, and call 911 if necessary. Parents are contacted immediately for any injury or emergency.
Incident Documentation
All incidents are documented in detail. Parents receive a written report and we follow up to ensure proper care.
Evacuation Plans
Each facility has posted evacuation routes and we conduct regular drills. Staff are trained in emergency evacuation procedures.
Severe Weather
We have shelter-in-place procedures for severe weather. Parents are notified of any weather-related changes to the schedule.
